- The driver in SoftRAID 4.5 failed to load on Macs which use the 32 bit kernel when running OS X 10.7 Lion. These are the same Macs which cannot run OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and include the 2007 Mac Pro and early 2007 Mac Book Pros. The error which resulted in the driver failing to load was caused by a bug in the release version of Xcode 4.5.2, Appleʼs developer environment. The SoftRAID driver version 4.5.1 is built with a different version of Xcode which correctly builds drivers for 32-bit kernels.
